Overview

This project aims to create a mobile phone application (AUGMent) where augmented reality (AR) provides an interactive teaching pedagogy for students to understand mental health symptoms while learning mental health nursing. Examples of such symptoms include the experiences patients encounter when they are having auditory or visual hallucinations. The mobile application is incorporated into the weekly tutorial session, during which nursing students will play a role in the faculty-designed case vignettes to elicit the experiences of the patients who have the symptoms. This exposure will enhance students’ learning, improving their empathetic response towards patients experiencing hallucinations and formal thought disorders.
