Overview

Design a technology-enhanced simulation game on a mobile device named ‘Health Economics Awareness LearnING’ or HEALING with aims to effectively teach medical students and residents appropriate, cost-effective clinical care.
The Course will be targeted at all year 3 to year 5 medical students of Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at National University of Singapore (up to 900 participants) as well as NUH Post-Graduate Year 1-3 Residents (up to 250).
The program will be app-based using both the Android and Apple platforms, and can be downloaded onto the student’s mobile devices or tablet computers.
To raise awareness and inculcate in learners about the cost of healthcare, healthcare economics, and various financing schemes in Singapore.
To evaluate if implementation of HEALING brings about change in behavioral practices and improve knowledge on healthcare economics and cost of medical students and residents.
To evaluate the effectiveness of technology-enhanced simulation learning in local medical students and residents.
