Design Online Virtual Laboratory Exercises and an Interactive Platform for Learning Food Processing and Engineering
Overview
The overall aim of the project is to improve the experimental gains for undergraduates and train and prepare students on how to solve practical food science problems by means of seeking help using social media and electronic resources. The specific aims are:
1. Establish online virtual laboratory exercises (two sessions for each module)and a platform for students taking modules related to food processing and engineering
2. Analyse and optimise the virtual laboratory exercises with evaluation, modification and optimisation by input-output trial and error and professional’s feedbacks
3. Examine the effectiveness and efficiency of the online forum built by running a physical experiment and verification test led by student tutors. This project meets the current needs of applied science programme of Food Science and Technology to learn practical laboratory exercise effectively and successfully, and to better seek help for virtual learning. This project helps critically train FST undergraduate students at all grades, including trainings in their imagination ability
and ability in seeking professional help from online resources.
